meet the MENTORS
TIM LEE
Tim is the Executive Director at Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL), a non-profit organisation in Singapore dedicated to meeting the needs of caregivers of persons with mental health conditions. His work includes Outreach and Caregiver Training, identifying and developing caregiver leaders who can provide peer support and advocate on behalf of caregivers of persons with mental health conditions in Singapore.
LI WOON CHURDBOONCHART
A self-proclaimed introvert who loves a good laugh and is fiercely protective of family and friends. Armed with a passion to do good, Li Woon founded The Volunteer Switchboard in 2013, a social enterprise that focuses on meaningful volunteering experiences to nurture virtues and inspire mindful giving to sustain social impact.
CHARLENE HENG
Charlene is Head of Core Services at Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) and oversees the delivery of services offered to clients such as crisis counselling, crisis activations, email befriending, 24/7 hotline and text messaging services. Charlene also oversees the volunteer management at SOS.
SURAJ UPADHIAH
As Co-Founder and CEO, Suraj is responsible for the overall development of Air Amber’s strategy to meet the ends of their vision, ‘Bigger Hearts, Smaller World’. He drives the organisation’s financial growth to ensure sustainability and longevity in impact. Suraj is passionate about building uplifting relationships between people and communities that inspire positive action.
NICHOL NG
Nichol is the proud mother of four young children and co-founder at The Food Bank Singapore (FBSG), an organisation that acquires donated food from various sources and distributes them to charities within its member network. She is also the third-generation business owner of a food distribution company, X-INC Pte Ltd, together with her brother.
KHOO YI FENG
Friends call him the “Mental Health Guy” for doing 'everything with mental health' in mind for the past 10 years. Trained in social work, psychology and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Yi Feng is a youth mental health professional who helps young people in mental health distress make sense of what they are going through so that they leave feeling more hopeful that they can get better.
GOH SHUET-LI
Shuet-Li is the Executive Director at Resilience Collective Limited, a charity in the mental health sector. Resilience Collective provides a platform where persons with a lived experience of a mental health conditions work with others to co-produce solutions to help themselves and others.
COLYN CHUA
Colyn is the Head of MINDSET Singapore, the Jardine Matheson Group’s corporate social responsibility arm and a registered charity established to make a difference in the area of mental health. Her interest in the social service sector was developed at an early age when her parents emphasized the importance of supporting people in need.
BENJAMIN TAY
Benjamin is passionate about empowering individuals to know more and find solutions to stop haze. He is currently the executive director at People’s Movement to Stop Haze (PM.Haze), which is a non-profit focusing on outreach, research and advocacy on the transboundary haze crisis. He coordinates haze prevention programmes both locally and overseas.
KARI TAMURA CHUA
Kari is the Co-Founder of Sama Sama, a ground-up initiative that aims to redefine the image of low wage migrant workers and enhance support systems which enable migrant workers to pursue their aspirations. In the day, she leads a product team at a SaaS start-up which helps organizations tackle external and multi-dimensional issues with technology - from climate change, food security, health to human rights.
GOH ANN TAT
Ann Tat is an educator and social impact enthusiast. He is currently an Adjunct lecturer in Singapore Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic. As a believer in lifelong learning, he obtained a Masters in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy to develop his capabilities to serve for the common good.
